Claire Gladstone - Artist Printmaker

Much of my work is concerned with the traces we leave behind, with fragments of memories and how we remember.

Most recently exploring Pripyat in the Chernobyl exclusion zone - using entrances, objects and the nature that has reclaimed the land to convey regeneration and hope.

My photographs are the starting point and the processes used will often derive from them, but not be contained by them. Photopolymer and photoetching on copper are my prefered methods. Always hand printed and often altered, as unique prints or in very limited editions.

An ongoing series of artists book works partners the prints.

I am an Artist

and Senior (fine) printmaking Technician at Plymouth University.
